#ABAchat

On most Wednesday evenings (9 p.m. EST), people involved in or interested in behaviour analysis meet over Twitter to discuss various topics related to the field of ABA. The topics are generated and moderated by someone with a particular interest or experience in ABA interventions or themes. It is not exclusive to behaviour analysts as we invite students, clients, parents, educators, other professionals etc. to join in and share their thoughts, perspectives.

There are a few ways to join in (or even watch) the discussion:

1) Search the hashtag #ABAchat on the Twitter site. Here you can view other tweets relating to the topic being discussed. If you wish to share a thought or ask a question, please add #ABAchat to the end of your tweet so that others following along can see it and reply.

2) Use a 3rd party Twitter platform like Tweetdeck where you can create a column specific to #ABAchat and follow along with what is being said. Again, if you want to share a thought, you will have to add the hashtag.

3) Use a chat site like Tweetchat.com and enter the hashtag #ABAchat. You can view the chat in real time (assuming everyone is adding the correct hashtag) while also participate directly through this site. Your comment or question will automatically have #ABAchat added to it for others to see.

This is my effort at disseminating the the science of behaviour analysis. I hope you will consider joining us on Wednesday evenings to either learn more about ABA or to join colleagues in discussing relevant issues and topics.

If you have a topic you would like discussed or wish to moderate a discussion yourself, feel free to send a submission through the ‘Ask me anything’ function at the top of the page. I try to link relevant articles or resources for each topic in case people want to do a little research before the discussion. If you have a great article to share, please send them my way!

Looking forward to our next #ABAchat and hope to see you there!
